MS SQL Server 2008R2

Hi I am trying to install MS SQL Server 2008R2 but run up against an error 1203 with the installer refusing to install the software. The installation set is freshly downloaded from the MS Licence centre. the server is a Windows 2008R2 machine patched to current MS levels. I have tried with various login credentials including local machine administrator taking defaults and declaring a locally created account and passwoird for all of the services it wants to install Any suggestions will be appreciated.

SQL Server should spit out some installation logs. Can you have a look (or attached) to the post?

Is the installer on a local drive? Is the account running the installation a Domain Admin? Are you installing a 32bit installation on 32bit OS / 64bit installation on a 64bit OS?
