how do I access mssql from outside by calling the server as the public IP address instead of -sqlexpress,access mssql 2012 from outside

,I will like to have access to my mssql 2012 from outside thus, I guess, the server name will be the public IP address instead of -SQLEXPRESS- How can I configured sql to do this and what ports do I need opened in the computer Thanks in advance, Raul Rego

The default port for SQL Server is 1433.
