In cluster, where exactly we will come to know that which node was up on some perticular day and time? I have two node cluster and the failover happen frequently however i need to check logs of perticular date and time.where i can check which node was up at that perticular date and time so that i can check the logs on specific node which was up at that time. Another question For MSDTC logs do we need to check all the nodes?
If you're getting frequent failovers, you may have a cluster problem you need to look into. It should be fairly stable. I would look to the SQL Server logs. Those should show the startup and failover times for each server. As each goes over, a new log will be started, so you'll be looking at the old logs. And by default only six are kept, so if you're getting more frequent failovers or you need to go further back in time, you'll need to adjust how many logs are kept by the server. But that's where I'd start.
