Hi , I have created the Database mail account on one of my server. The SMTP Server is
mail01.americas.astellas.net. When i send the test mail i get the below Error Msg > Date 6/25/2012 7:06:43 AM > Log Database Mail (Database Mail Log) > Log ID 7 > Process ID 9268 > Mail Item ID 4 > Last Modified 6/25/2012 7:06:43 AM > Last Modified By sa > Message > The mail could not be sent to the recipients because of the mail server failure. (Sending Mail using Account 1 (2012-06-25T07:06:43). Exception Message: Could not connect to mail server. (No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 10.202.4.135:25). Is this issue with mail server or from my Database server, Thanks Basit Khan
I'd say that it's with the mail server due to "because the target machine actively refused" portion of the error message. Try to point your DBMail profile to another SMTP server if you have one available to rule out the sql server. Hope this helps!
http://www.wikihow.com/Send-Email-Using-Telnet If you can't finish step 2 and get access to the session, a firewall or something might block your path to the mailserver. And if you get relay denied instead of message accepted in the last step then ask the mailadmin to add your ip to the list of accepted relay servers.
hi there, just a quick one: how did you configure the database mail account, e.g. the type of smtp authentication? To answer your question: the message is from the mail server. 1st of all: try if port 25 on the remote location is listening. Often, when you get that message, then the port isn't available at all.
