Required experts comments on Indra SQL Diagnostic Manager

Am planing to buy SQL Diagnostic Manager to administrator SQL server instances around (15-20). Is it worth investing on this tool even MS SQL 2008 have also inbound administration tools.

There are several different vendors that you could use, I would highly recommend checking out most of them including (in no particular order): - SQLSentry - Quest Spotlight - Idera Diagnostic Manager - RedGate SQL Monitor - Confio Ignite - Microsoft SCOM Each of the tools offer something slightly different and depending upon your need you might significantly prefer one over another. There's no harm in downloading the trial for each and giving it a go

In my company we use Idera and I find it pretty useful. It has all sorts of cool features - Query monitoring - TempDb analysis. - VMware analysis. - Disk space monitoring/Trending - Customized alerts - Index frag analysis - Mobile access Please note, I am **not** a "friend of.." or anything like that, just a users of the product. Im sure people that users Redgate etc will comment with similar features/tools. On the down side, when buying the odd 1 or 2 lics I do find it a little on the expensive side.. But, what price can you put on a tool that has instant alerts.
