Just in case if you are not able to work with the above suggestion, another way is to share your folder through WEB/IIS. Once you correctly shared it with correct permissions, then you can access it through normal http hyperlink. Rest of the procedure is the same as mentioned in the above suggestion. Only need to use http:// instead of file://.

Actually yesterday only i tried as Riley said, its not working. But Thanks a lot Riley.

Usman: What kind of permissions do we need, to access the folder through a report. Actually .wav file is stored on the server.

Thanks in advance.

I guess you should seek help from the best person i.e. your system administrator. I am saying so because based upon the authentication i.e. NTLM/KERBEROS/BASIC authentication, you would access the folder and files.

@Usman :Thank you so much :),but right now our client don't want to implement this task why i don't no.

@Neha.sql Happy to know that it helped. BTW, all this web sharing may not be needed if you move the files to the Reporting folders (Already shared). Hence, the permission inheritance would ease the job and the client should agree to implement it.

Last but not least, if the above was the solution to problem then please tick/mark the answer as accepted. It would increase your karma points and it would also help the future users. Thanks.

Just tried this on my test (albeit SSRS 2008R2) instance. The file://computername/temp/ding.wav worked and the wav played. Just make sure the account that is running SSRS has access to that file location.
