How to mapped a network Drive.

I run Montly full sqlbackup and daily transactional log from mon to thurday. On daily basis, the system admin team rotate diffent network drive to perform entire system backup using acronis on network A In which our central database server is housed.

I use their network drive change the ip to my ip, copy the sqlserver backup to Another sqlServer B on network XB.I then use Management studio and restore the Database.

But due to the size of the Database, the copying takes alot of time. I bought a new Network Drive for my sqlbackup only. I need a way of making sure that i can map this new drive to the central server on network A, point the sqlserverbackup to save file on the drive. Up on completion i bring the drive to network b connect it to server b. and restore directly from the drive.,

How can i achieve this?

You can create a backup device using sp_addumpdevice to map the network device to SQL Server, and you can do backups to the backup device. Your SQL Server service account should have read\write access to the device.
