SQL 2008 R2 and Crystal Reports 8.5

We are in the middle of a SQL 2008 R2 upgrade. We plan to upgrade to 2008 in the near future and 2012 soon there after. As part of the upgrade effort to 2008 I have found an older fairly complex crystal report written in Crystal 8.5. Does anyone know if this older Crystal Report will be compatible with SQL 2008 R2? I suppose I can always try to experiment with this by pointing the report to an upgraded SQL 2008 R2 database but I'd like to know if others already know what I can expect to find.

Thanks in advance - Darren

I have a few instances of Crystal Reports 8.5 accessing a SQL 2008R2 server, it is simply another datasource. All I had to do was update my connection in my reports to point to the new server.

Thanks you Tim. By the way what version of MDAC was being used? Any issues there to be concerned about?

Same here, but personally I would test. Also, I'm pretty sure the 8.5 will be End of Life...

If you can, either look at the latest version or convert to SSRS. Although it is time consuming the ROI was worth it.
