SSRS report upgraded to R2 running very slowly

We have a report on SSRS 2008 (verion 10.0.5500.0) which takes about 30 seconds to complete. About 8 seconds of this is the time for IE to render the report. It returns about 8000 rows in a table. We have an installtion of SSRS 2008 R2 Service pack 1 cumulative update 1 (version 10.50.2769.0) and I upgraded the report to R2 (via BIDS) and deployed it to the R2 server. IE now takes about 4 or 5 minutes to render this R2 report! Both reports point to the same database server and both take about the same time to retrieve the data. The rendering done by SSRS is also about the same (I checked the TimeDaraRetrieval, TimeProcessing, and TimeRendering fields in ReportServer.ExecutionLog for both) Does anyone know how to resolve this? Note that I have already installed SSRS 2008 R2 Service pack 1 cumulative update 1 (version 10.50.2769.0), and the poor poformance issue remains.
