I am trying to send a backup from one server to another but its not working
![alt text]![alt text]I have a scheduled backup in the Maintenance Plan folder in SQL Server 2008 R2. I am trying to send the backup to another server. Everytime I run the maintenace plan (which is actually a ssis pakage inside of SQL Server 2008 R2). I get an error. I have put in the right destination (\\sql-test\g where g is the shared drive g) and i always get an error when I try to send the backup to drive g on sql-test. I have attached a picture of the errors that are occuring. Any help/advice would be appreciated. :
@Kev Riley, I did not have the right permissions on the shared drive. I found this:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms178142.aspx and I followed the instructions. I am stil getting an error. Is there a way to see if 2 servers can communicate with each other?
As Kev said, I bet it is the permissions. You will need to create a credential (credentials are in the security menu), based on a service account that has permissions to that share, and to the local server. Then create a SSIS Proxy account, that uses the credentials you just created (In the SQL Server Agent Menu, Proxies). Once the credential and proxy accounts have been created, open the SQL Agent job for the maintenance plan and open the edit the step, then change the RUN AS option to the proxy account. then it should be fine. :
