Copy a parameter to new report

I would like to copy a report parameter from an existing SSRS report to a new SSRS rreport. How can I do this? I thought I should be able to highlight the report parameter in the existing report, then select Edit | Copy and paste it into the new report - but the Edit | Copy option is unavailable. Do I really have to set up each report parameter from scratch in each new report?

You can copy the parameters by copying the XML declaration of parameter directly in the .rdl source of the report. 1. Define your parameter 2. Right-click report in the solution explorer and choose View Code 3. Find parameter declaration select the whole **``** node representing your param and Copy it to clipboard. 4. Open any additional *.rdl and paste your code in the the **``** section. If the Parameters section (node) doesn't exist, then you have to create it anywhere directly in the **``** node. The parameter specification looks like: Integer 1 Select a value 1 Value 1 2 Value 2 3 Value 3
