creating ssis package to read edi files and load into database

You might want to try and reattach the file. You also might want to try to first create the package yourself and ask for help when you get stuck.

@Shawn_Melton +1. @reach.tharan Since you aleady tagged it in SSIS, this indeed is one of the best way. Just have faith in yourself and this would be very easy once you start. This way you would learn better and at a much rapid pace.

Once you get the SSIS developer UI open you could use a Flat File Connector to access the data in the edi file. Once this is working then you can use a OLE DB Connector to give you the connection to your database and allow you to pass data into your chosen table
