SQL Server 2000 Server Rename and Replication

I am swapping out SQLServer2000 hardware for storage upgrades, using log shipping and server rename instance rename and ip change to old address. We have done this in the past for hardware upgrades and it works fine, however this server has a transactional with snapshot replication publisher database on it. Will I have to remove the publication and restart new from the new hardware? or will it be okay because it will be logshipped and the replicated tables are already there.

Not sure if I am the only one confused by the info in the question, can you break it down a bit more please? Make up names for servers and explain where replication takes place and what is being changed... we may be able to offer some advice.
