In ReportingServices CRIs Do i need to have the Renderer portion done to test?

Hello,

using Microsoft ReportingServices to write a CRI. It is a VB toolbox control that i would like to add to RS I have the *controlname*Designer.vb portion done (atleast i think so) in the *controlname*CRI and the .dll is built. I've also updated the RSReportDesigner.config file and copies the assembly (.dll) to the proper dir. I would like to add the control to the toolbox on my BusinessIntelligence projects(Report Server project) to test using the Design/Preview tabs, with out completing the Renderer portion because i'm not actually running SQLServer locally. is this possible?
