EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION SQL 7.00

Not sure what OS Patch may have cause this,

I have a production server that it's returning this error in my application, to any user of the application during any transaction.

The only workaround I was able to to was to put everyuser as an Administrator of the Database and the error stopped, for obvious reasons cant leave it like that ... but cant seem to replicate the issue on my test environment.

Any Ideas ...

I tried ... replacing SQLSort.dll as one article mentiones

Subject: SQL Server Alert System: 'Demo: Sev. 19 Errors' occurred on \SEVERNAME

DATE/TIME: 4/29/2010 5:23:44 PM

DESCRIPTION: Error: 0, Severity: 19, State: 0 SqlDumpExceptionHandler: Process 193 generated fatal exception c0000005 EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION. SQL Server is terminating this process.

This may not be a solution but I have seen the need for re-application of service packs after OS updates. Have you re-applied the latest sp for SQL 7?

What sort of application - web, client hosted/installed, server hosted/installed ..?

Is there any option to upgrade?
