In addition to @Grant & @Shawn_Melton's answers, you might want to get hold of Thomas LaRock's book "DBA Survivor", and Brad McGehee's book "How to become an Exceptional DBA". The latter is available for free download, along with a few others, from Red Gate -

Excellent point. I always forget about Brad's book. Not sure why. Some sort of mental block or something. It's an excellent read and very useful.
