Wordpress MySQL to SQL Server 2011

How difficult would it be to incorporate data from a SQL Server to a Wordpress MySQL database and going the other way.

Do you mean SQL 2008/R2???

Maybe - have no knowledge of SQL server but have been asked to looking into making a wordpress website work with SQL Server. In the initial stages of looking into how difficult it is to make a MySQL database talk to a SQL server database.

Just to clarify (I'm feeling a bit thick today) - Do you mean you want your WordPress installation to be serviced by SQL Server rather than MySQL? Or something else?

I wanted to keep MySQL but have a plugin to retrieve data from SQL server into MySQL.

It looks like the Wordpress support channels will ahve your answer(s) http://wordpress.org/support/topic/will-wordpress-work-with-microsoft-sql-server-express and also this http://wordpress.visitmix.com/development/installing-wordpress-on-sql-server. It seems to be that some people say its possible but it may rely on the type of WP account you have ... Good Luck
