Issues while migrating from Access 2003 to SQL Server 2008 R2

Hi SSMA Help Group, I am trying to export from Access 2003 to SQL Server 2008 R2 installed on same server ( Win 2008 Enterprise Edition ). I am using SSMA tool to migrate data from access to SQL Server. As soon as I open SSMA and " Select objects to migrate ", I get following error message and after that Access database does not gets loaded. Below is the error message : "Could not load file or assembly Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access.Dao, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. " Can you pls look into the error message as we have critical release planned tomorrow. Also, I tried Import / Export Wizard in SQL Server 2008 R2, but that is giving following error message : "Microsoft Data Link Error : Test Connection failed because of an error in initializing provider. Cannot start your application. The workgroup information file is missing or opened exclusively by another user." Any inputs pls ?

Hi, from the message you are trying to import data from Access 2007. But There are no drivers (DAO) installed in the system for Access 2007 and Above. To be able to import the data you need to install the Access DAO. You can take a look here: [Microsoft SQL Server Migration Assistant for Access v4.2][1] Which allows you import data from any Access version since Access97 You can install also [Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable][2] and use these drivers to read data from Access.
