SSMS - Find broke in Remote Session

I am now living in Colorado (WOOT!) and working remotely. But now my Find feature in SSMS is not working and I need it badly. It doesn't work using either Ctrl-F or from the menu. I do get a reaction - the SSMS title bar becomes the focus (the color is lighter). If it matters, I am using Sonic Wall (VPN). It was working before by the way. But I don't know what has changed. Thanks for your help! Mark

is your entire remote display appearing on your local workstation or is part missing? Are there dual monitors involved? Either of these scenarios can cause the find dialog to appear "off-screen"

'May have found a workaround. I can actually use the Quick Find, it's just not showing the window. If I type in text and Enter, it searches. The F3 also works.

Good points (+1). No dual display is involved, but you're probably right about it appearing "off-screen." But if it is, how to get it back?

I was hoping you would have scroll bars around the window (if you happen to be on an OSX Lion local machine, it's a bit of a trick to get them to show). You can adjust your screen display size in the MSTSC properties before you actually make the remote desktop connection. You might try a couple different sized to see if it has an effect.

One way I've gotten lost windows back was from the SSMS "Window" menu. Choose "Reset Window Layout" Everything reverts to the out-of-the box position.
