Logon Prompt when accessing Report Manager 2005 - Cannot connect

Using SQL Server 2005 on Windows XP SP3. Everything was working fine but had to re-install SQL Server due to hardware problem. I can see and deploy the reports from BIDS. I can see the reports in SSMS. But I cannot access the Report Manager: http://localhost/Reports, this was working efore. I get a logon (window) prompt showing a username/domain that no longer exist. So no matter what username and password I use it does not work. The usual defaults have been used in the reporting services configuration. I had this problem before (almost 2 years ago) but forgot the applied remedy. Any help would be appreciated

Two things jump to mind:

1 - the services account(s) could have the wrong privilege or have wrong passwords etc
or
2 - I have never had to do it but I believe you need to delete/recreate the encryption keys, (unless you have a backup of the original??) aafter a reinstall. There are some details here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms156010.aspx. Sorry to be so vague but I dont have any encrypted settings on my servers and have never got involved with it all.

Thanks for your thought - I followed your suggested thread which led me to many others in vain. I re-installed SQL Server 2005 and yet I still get a logon prompt with an very old username/domain. I thought that someone must have run into this situation and/or Microsoft would have a direct suggestion. I guess I'll keep trying different ways.
