How to find or install Database Engine Tuning Advisor

I have SQL Server 2008 installed on my computer, but I'd like to use the Database Engine Tuning Advisor, which I've used with SQL Server 2005 before.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to install DETA, find the feature or add-on, or use this tool.

Nowhere in my Start > Programs menu is this tool, nor is there a menu option for it in my SSMS 2008 application.

How does one find, download, install, or add this application?

I had the same problem run the setup for SQL server 2k8, Select 'Installation' from the left menu and 'New SQL server stand-alone, or add features to an existing installation' from the right. Select a database to add it to, and under features, look for 'Management Tools - Complete' - this adds it....

Couldn't find this solution anywhere, and took a bit of digging to find it for myself...

It should be under Start > Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 2008 > Performance Tools, right next to SQL Profiler
