database mirroring connection error, event id 1474, source MSSQL

Hi, receiving the below error with event id 1474 and source MSSQL while server DB01 tries to connect to DB03 server. Database mirroring connection error 4 'An error occurred while receiving data:'64(the specified network name is no longer available)'.'for TCP://FQDNofserver:5023'. For your Information- We have database mirroring configured in between DB01 and DB03. Principal database is configured on DB01, Mirror is configured on DB03 and Witness is configured on DB02. Witness server check the connection in between Principal and Mirror database every 10 seconds and if the connection is not available DB Failover is initiated automatically. Please help...

Looks like a network issue where one server can't resolve the name of the other server. Has this issue just started happening? You might want to try using IP instead of DNS names that way you can rule out DNS related issues. Several things to start checking for are network card issues, DNS issues, etc.

Dear Tim Radney, started 5 days back. is it due to name resolution (DNS)?, i will check with ip instead of DNS and let you know tomorrow as I am at home right now Thanks :)

hi , checked the DNS related issues, DNS is working fine, no problem with teamed NICs, Mirroring is working but some time this error comes when delay happens while both the servers try to connect each other
