Hi, our application needs to send xml files via ftp to the Oracle server where they're stored. I'm looking for the most efficient way how to deal with this problem. My idea is that the files will be sent via ftp using a pl/sql procedure and java to the XML DB repository, then Oracle file watcher will invoke the external tables mechanism, which will transfer the data to an XML-aware table, where the files are internally decomposed into relational tables according to the XML schema, which is registered to this table. I read everywhere that external tables feature is together with SQL Loader the fastest way of loading data. Is this a possible solution? Or are there any reasonable alternatives? Please correct me if I am wrong.
