Between EXISTS and In which one is more performance friendly ?

Can anybody explain me which one is more performance friendly either EXISTS or IN ? Or is there any specific significances or differences between these two ? Thank you in advance.

Performance is dependent on the data being queried and the design of the query. In some conditions EXISTS will out perform IN. In others IN will outperform EXISTS and sometimes they will each yield comparable performance. This article provides a good comparison.
