What is Mirrored on-line Redo Log ?

Can anybody please explain what Mirrored on-line Redo Log is and where exactly these logs should be used? Thank you.

A mirrored on-line redo log consists of copies of on-line redo log files physically located on separate disks, changes made to one member of the group are made to all members.

this used for raid partition in and mirror partition and multiplex the redolog files for secure ur system we can multipal copies of redolog but it slows the system server speed
