SQL Server has Pubs, Northwind and Adventureworks. Are there similar databases provided by Oracle? Oracle provides the HR database. Are there any others provided either by Oracle or by third parties? If so, please point out where I can download them. Thanks!
I don't really know of any provided by Oracle. However, the Oracle Application Express community packaged applications contain both the schema and interface for some fairly similar examples. You can get Oracle's version of Northwind here.
Scott/Tiger is a very small/basic test schema available by running $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/utlsampl.sql
If you create a new database with DB Creation Assistant there are a few comprehensive sample schemas like HR, OE, OC, PM, IX, and SH. They can also be installed after the fact by running scripts. A link to information about and instructions on installing for 10g are available here
