META - How to unmark an answer

I marked an answer which is not the answer and now I'd like to unmark it. Clicking on the check box removes the mark, but it doesn't seem to change whether or not the question is answered. I can't mark another answer as correct. Funny thing is, I'm trying to mark my own answer as correct. [It's over here][1]. Any ideas? It's working now, but it wasn't and I refreshed a couple of times with that in mind. Maybe there's a delay.

This may be related to something I noticed a while ago (which they claim is now fixed) - when you convert an answer to a comment, the number of answers reported at the main menu doesn't reduce until someone else answers. Could be a different presentation of the same problem...
