Trigger backup to run when mirror database becomes principal database
Following settings : - SQL Server 2008r2 Enterprise Edition - Windows 2008r2 - Principal database 'Playground' on server X - Mirror database 'Playground' on server Y - Server Z is the Witness server I want to be able to have a new full backup of 'Playground' as soon as it fails over and becomes Principal on server Y. I also want to be able to have a new full backup of 'Playground' as soon as it fails back and becomes Principal on server X again. I currently can't solve this with my skills. Stored procedures in place : 1) FULL backup of all databases which are online except TempDB. 2) FULL backup of a single database which runs conditionally if the database is online and is NOT a system database. 3) Differential backup of all databases which are online (except TempDB) if they are running in Full Recovery Model modus. 4) Transaction log backup of all databases which are online (except TempDB) if they are running in Full Recovery Model modus. I need to be able to run a full backup directly when the mirrored database becomes principal to ensure full consistency and high availability guarantees Please help! When trying to setup a WMI alert it always fails.
