No Report Model project option in BIDS

Hi,

Can anyone suggest why I dont have the Report Model option in the New Project templates in BIDS please? Is there a way of installing/registering it? Have I missed an option on my last PC rebuild? I have SQL Server 2008 Developer edition installed and just installed the SSMS BIDS option of SQL 2005 to make sure I can support old SSRS projects while we upgrade.

thanks

Do you have all the other BI projects: Analysis Services, Integration Service, Report Server etc..

No, not all of them. I have only just noticed that, as I dont make any AS or IS projects normally anyway. I only have "Report Server Project Wizard" and "Report Server Project" under the Business Intelligence Projects folder.

It would appear that a SSRS 2008 report model, constructed in VS 2008 with BIDS installed will deploy to a SSRS 2005 Report Server and function as required.

This doesnt exactly answer my question of why the facility is not in 2005 BIDS but it does resolve my issue on how to build a report model for my accounts dept on their 2005 report server.
