Linked Reporting

Looking for some guidence on linked reports. My users need to drill down on the data. So, from report A, I added properties/Navigation/Jump to Report and then added report B in the dropdown. Here is my question, on report A - the user click's on "Tom's" now how can I make the link go straight to the spot on report B where Tom's records are. My report B is sorted, so I just need to land the link at the name the use picked and clicked on... I am using VS 2005..

You need to declare parts of the sub report as showing in the document tab and then reference that location in the Jump to URL. Dont have SSRS open at the minute to check but from memory its on the navigation tab when you edit the group(or other object where the data is) as something like 'show in document map'.

I think you are saying. On report A, properties/Navigation/Jump to URL/Then this is where you say reference a location. Please help me understand how to "declare parts of the sub report as showing in the document tab".. Then I would reference that location.. Correct??

Here is a link to some MSDN content on Report Document Maps http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159774.aspx Once you have a map for the sub-report then you should be able to make a similar URL as those which populate the map but have that as the link in the parent report
