System Databases affected when upgrading from SQL 2000 to SQL 2008

when upgrading from sql server 2000 to 2008 all system databases were rebuild and user database attach, should the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Upgrade Advisor have pointed out problem with the system database while in the process of upgrading?

if the msdb database does not upgrade from sql server 2000 to 2008, should one restore and rebuild to get the old legacy dts, obs and maintenance

The structure of system databases changes with each version, or it potentially can. You should expect that all system databases will change on an upgrade. This is not something I would expect the Upgrade Advisor to note. It's not a problem. Your logins will move, as will the maintenance items.

If they did not, you have another issue.
