Attach SQL Server v6.5 data files

Can I attach a SQL Server v6.5 data file and log to a SQL Server 2005 or SQL Server 2000 instance? I have the .dat and log files from an old server.

Not possible.

You will need to attach them to SQL Server 6.5 and then use the Upgrade Wizard from SQL 2000.

"Note that to upgrade from SQL Server 6.5 or older you must first upgrade to SQL Server 7.0 or SQL Server 2000, and then to SQL Server 2005."
