Hi All, I have a issue at my server. I have created a job for backup all database but when i check the Job history it show blank. what can be cause for it. is there any configuration issue or any thing Else... Thanks Basit
I have seen this and still find it on some jobs. One thing that I set on all jobs where I want to see the outcome is to set the important steps to have their output logged. Go to the Advanced tab for the steps you are interested in and tick Log to Table. If you want a history of all executions then tick Append, otherwise only the last execution will be stored. Once the job has run you can come back here and click the View button to see the output.
Do you have a job that deletes the Job History? Or a job step that does this? Check the job history table (msdb.dbo.sysjobhistory) in the MSDB database. If you want to reconstruct the backup history, you can use the following query: SELECT Server_Name, Database_Name, CASE [type] WHEN 'D' THEN 'Database' WHEN 'L' THEN 'Transaction Log' WHEN 'I' THEN 'Differential Database' WHEN 'F' THEN 'File or Filegroup' WHEN 'G' THEN 'Differential File' WHEN 'P' THEN 'Partial' WHEN 'Q' THEN 'Differential Partial' ELSE '???' END AS Backup_Type, backup_start_date, recovery_model, backup_size, compressed_backup_size FROM msdb.dbo.backupset
