SQL Clustering - Questions

  1. do we need SQL2005 to be able to install patches on each node individually? I have been told that only SQL2008 allows individual installation of SQL updates, is that true?

  2. how does the cluster reacts in case we have a deadlock in the primary node? When we failover, the deadlock will be transfered to the passive node?
