[meta] Are you unable to submit answers using FireFox or Chrome?

Since today's OSQA update, there is a confirmed problem with the Chrome v6.0.472.63 (& supposedly Firefox) which is preventing some users from submitting answers to questions. If you are encountering this problem, please go and upvote the issue in JIRA: [ http://jira.osqa.net/browse/OSQA-460][1] And you can fix the problem by clearing your cookies and your entire cache, as described here: [ http://lockergnome.net/questions/87322/osqa-update-on-8-oct-2010-is-it-broken][2] It might be overkill, but it should work. I'll update if I hear anything more this. [1]: http://jira.osqa.net/browse/OSQA-460 [2]: http://lockergnome.net/questions/87322/osqa-update-on-8-oct-2010-is-it-broken

@Camassey Until yesterday we had karma points spelled out correctly, but today we can only see truncated values for all 4 and 5 digits users. This is too bad, as this truncation only preserves max of 2 characters worth of space, but costs a loss of precision. For example, my karma is 4,374 (5 characters), but it is spelled out 4.3k (4 characters). OK, I admit, it preserved 1 character worth of space, but was it worth it to implement the feature just for the sake of 1 - 2 characters?

@Matt Whitfield This is too bad, really is. I guess I can eventually get used to it, this is a pretty small nuisance after all, but I will definitely miss the original feature :(

I'm not sure if there's any way I can control how the karma is displayed, but I'll look into it. No promises, though. I Believe they're working towards [release 0.6]( http://jira.osqa.net/secure/ReleaseNote.jspa?projectId=10000&version=10000) at the moment:

Chris - thanks. I'm on that version and I'm posting stuff just fine, but I'll upvote the OSQA question anyway...

Ok, hang on. While we're at it - is community wiki somehow broken? This question is a wiki, but when I answer it my answer isn't wiki until I mark it as such manually - WTF?

Yeah, I just spotted that on another answer I just posted. I'll do a hunt for this as well and see if it's a known issue from the latest OSQA update...

@Camassey - thanks for coming in to talk to us. But it would be nice to get some advance warning of these changes - somehow. This place is important to some of us, and suddenly having to figure out workarounds to things that weren't problems yesterday is a bit frustrating! And I've just spotted another new feature - char/word count in the Answer box. :-)

No problem - & I'm 100% behind you on advanced warning. Kev Riley asked me about this, and I confided that I had no idea an update was about to be rolled out. I've now got myself on the mailing list which should *hopefully* give some advanced warning, which I'll pass on to you as soon as I can.

Thanks for that. I know Kev & FatherJack had some other concerns that they were hoping to bring up with the Red Gate team at SQLBits last week, but their contact couldn't make it...

Yeah, there was a slight logistical/communication failure on our part, there. We're working on getting some face-time with the moderators sometime soon so that we can work through their list.

You know what? This might be a consequence of the update - and it might not. Chrome 7 isn't working for me @ home - now on Firefox - but it also has broken the toolbar on my site - which hasn't changed at all and worked just fine under Chrome 6. The 'I'm going to update you whether you like it or not' approach is beginning to grate.
