Can not connecto to the repository (Analysis Services 2000)

Hi, Can you kindly help me with my problem. I can not administer my SQL Analsis Services 2000 now. It gives me an error "Cannot connect to the repository" Analysis server: #servername# Error: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified. I have checked and rechecked every ODBC names both user and systems but to no avail. this is giving me a very very big problem. would you be so kind enough and please help me get a solution for this. Thank you very much.

I'm going for the blindingly obvioous on this, maybe you have overlooked one of the easy ones: 1. What has changed since you could last connect to the system? It could be more than one thing has changed, so check your server logbook for possibilities (you do have one, right?) 2. Is the Analysis Services service running? 3. Is the machine that it is running on turned on? 4. Is the machine plugged into the network? 5. Are connections not possible at all, or is it just your machine experiencing the problems?

If you are trying to admin through Mgmt Studio then make sure that the internal network supports connections on the default ssas port. I had an assertive network admin lockout my default ssas port and the symptoms looked the same as yours.
