backup failure in sql2000

my scheduled back up job is failed with below error in sql 2000 Message BACKUP failed to complete the command BACKUP DATABASE [Today] TO DISK = N'c:\BACKUP\Today\Today_20100827.BAK' WITH INIT , NOUNLOAD , NOSKIP , STATS = 10, NOFORMAT What is the reason? I know that the my C: does not have enough space as my other manual back up job failed with disk space error ,is this same reason for above error? Rgds,

Probably. There should be another error message with more information, or extended information about that error in either the SQL Server error logs or the windows event logs.

I would run this manually and then check the errors. If there is insufficient disk space, the backup fails and it deletes anything written to disk.
