can't Execute tasks in BIDS

I have DTS packages saved locally that I can open and modify in BIDS, however if I right click a task, Execute is not an option. Also, on the menu bar if I click Debug, Start without Debugging is grayed out. I have asked around and no one has seen this issue before. I have admin rights to my computer and I have uninstalled and reinstalled SQL Server 2005. My version of SQL Server Management Studio is 9.00.4035.00 and my version of Visual Studio is 8.0.50727.42. I have recently changed jobs -- so I haven't needed to run DTS jobs until now. I am able to connect to the SQL Server databases locally and I can manually run the whole DTS package from SQL Server Agents. I recently had an issue with a package where I needed to manually start a DTS package from a specific task -- and found I couldn't run it. Thanks in advance.

Hi Simba, This is probably happening because the package is not part of a project. Try creating a project, then add the SSIS package to the project, then see if the options change. Note: when you add a package to a project, it copies the original and any changes are made to the copy
