Hi Everyone, I had a issue with our Domain Controllers last week at our office. First problem is - Network gone down (Domain Controller is Crash and Need replacement) No one can't connect to Network. Second problem is - MS Exchange is Down next day after we replaced the new Domain Controller but Exchange Server is still reference to Old Domain Controller. Now, Operation Director assigned me on mission. What he wants is - I should received an SMS as soon as one of them is off line including SQL Servers. Anybody have any idea how to resolve the issues? I have been looking [
www.txtlocal.co.uk] website last couple of days and I can setup SMS message in .net to check the SQL server but I don't know how to check the Network and MS exchange. Any Idea? Thanks. Leo :
Yeah that a good idea . you can use solarwind for monitoring network server, which also gives notification email , about the server . for sending email you can use websitepulse for sending sms to mobiles, websitepulse is really good
you could create an ssis package that uses the WMI data reader control, and use the query; Select name, state from win32_service with that query you can look at the current state of every service currently on the target server (or include some parameters to look at a particular set of services). If you can't query the server, then it may be down. Then depending on the state of a service, you can then take appropriate action as needed. Pretty cool huh?
