Stored procedures in separate database

Has anyone put tables in one database and then stored procedures that tie to specific apps in their own database ? Pros / cons ?


Example -

Database 1 - 200 tables

Database 2- 50 stored procedures to toe to app 1 and add any synonyms to tables needed from database 1
