Blue/green icons

Hi,

I RDP in to the server and connect from SSMS then the SQL Server & SQL Agent is showing blue cricle with question mark. But when I logged in to the same SQL server using my local machine SSMS both the SQL server & SQL Agent are showing normal green color. How it is different for same account?

Thanks,

Ramana

To confirm

When you use SSMS on the Server and connect to the same server the icon is BLUE?

When you use SSMS locally on your workstation and connect to the server the icon is GREEN?

I have not seen this way round before, usually RDP is green and Local is blue due to WMI being blocked between client and server.

Yes. You are right. I am seeing that blue icon from RDP.

Thanks,

This I have not seen before. It should be the other way around generally and it’s all down to WMI being blocked so SSMS cannot interrogate the Windows APIs for the service status.
