I heard that many Microsoft SQL Server exams are retired and some are going to retire soon. What certification should I take?
Answer by Kev Riley ·
Yes the current MCSE and MCSA certifications are due to retire on 31 January 2021, meaning you will no longer be able to attain them. The only other certification that seems to be similar at the moment is DP-300: Administering Relational Databases on Microsoft Azure - don't be put off by 'Azure' in the title, a lot of what you do to admin SQL in the cloud is exactly the same as what you do to admin it on premise. Yes there will be some cloud content in here, but there's lots of resources out there to help you translate your skills.
Thank you for your reply.
DP-300 looks like for Admin. Is there any other for Developer?
Not exactly, but you may want to look at DP-200: Implementing an Azure Data Solution and DP-201: Designing an Azure Data Solution
