What should I consider when integrating Salesforce in a SQL Server Data Warehouse?

Hello,

I new to SSIS and data warehousing. I'm looking to integrate a Salesforce instance into a SQL Data Warehouse using API's. What should I consider when building out this Architecture? What are some data management considerations I should think about?

Before you start with any technical discussions at all, you need to start with output. What reports will users want to pull from your data warehouse. Then you need to identify where each of these data points exist in your source system(s).

When you are done with that (and it's not going to be a short process), you can start thinking about your data warehouse data model, and your integrations between DW and source system.

To think about integrating with APIs or not, or even thinking about your DW and ETL architecture is much too premature.
