Does a table's permissions get removed if it fails to drop due to being published for replication?

We had to recreate this table on our of our databases so we tried to drop the table first but failed to realize it was being replicated to another server.

That was fine that it wasn't dropped, we just left it alone and just scheduled to recreate it another time, when it was removed from replication, but for some reason the select permissions on it were removed.

Is that normal? For a table's permissions to be lost when its drop fails?

Error encountered:

Cannot drop the table 'TABLE_NAME' because it is being used for replication
