dtsx package recovery created through a Maintenance plan

I have a dtsx package I'm trying to recover from a maintenance plan. The maintenance plan was deleted, and we can't find the dtsx package. The package was created in the maintenance plan and not in SSIS or Visual Studio. It wasn't saved as an independent dtsx package on the machine. Is there a way to find where the dtsx packages are saved (and maybe they're not) if they were created by a maintenance plan in SSMS, but the maintenance plan was deleted?

If you delete the maintenance plan the underlying dtsx is also removed. You would need to restore MSDB as a user database and interrogate it to pull out the information you need.
