I'm creating .csv files as email attachments. When recipient double-clicks on attachment, it displays this way.
I want it to display like this:
Is this possible with out manually expanding the column widths?
I guess you could do something if you have an excel-level (rather than individual sheet level) macro, or you drive excel from a different bit of software (including another excel sheet, I suppose), but, no, not without a fair chunk of work.
Thanks Tom, I was hoping there was some way I could trick Excel. As an example, I was having issues with Excel changing the format of date and numeric values. I found that for those column values I didn't want changed, I could enclose the data in double quotes and precede that with an = sign (Flat File Connection Manager Text qualifier must be set to <none>). The only disadvantage is that when you click on a column value, the = and double quotes appear.
I was hoping there was some way to handle my column width display issue in the same manner.
To to help out your users perhaps include a tip on how to auto widen the columns in Excel when you email your file
