Managing SSRS Parameters after publish

Hi There,

I have a working SSRS report that has been published to the report server. I have an expression that pulls the available parameter values. I want to be able to publish the same report to multiple folders but I want to be able to change the default available parameter. I.e. I have available values of 1,2,3,4 but change the default parameter to 1 if in folder A etc.

However when I go to manage the report, it says expression based under default, it gives me the option to override but when I click that I cannot select any of the available values, has anyone run into this issue? how can I get around this?

Thanks

Grant

change the parameter value before deploying it to an expression that looks at the URL and sets the value based on the folder it lives in. set up a CASE or SWITCH to set the right value for folder A, etc.

Hi Jon, Thanks for replying. But not quite what I was asking, I should probably explain what I am trying to do so you know what I'm after.

I have created the report and it is working fine, if I upload the report with the correct default parameters it works fine. I created the base report with ALL the possible parameter values, now I want to hand that report off to an end user. The end user doesn't know how to build reports but they can upload to a new folder and then hit manage and change the default parameter values from the list of ALL available.

The issue I am having is after deployment the default parameter currently says expression based so I choose to override, once I hit override I can see ALL the available values in a drop down list but it will not allow me to select any even though I can see the check box.

Have you ever seen that before?

Thanks

Grant
