Process 55 generated fatal exception c0000096 EXCEPTION_PRIV_INSTRUCTION. SQL Server is terminating this process.

Trying to run an update query on Microsoft SQL Server 2016 (SP2-CU1) (KB4135048) and gets the below error:

Msg 596, Level 21, State 1, Line 79 Cannot continue the execution because the session is in the kill state. Msg 0, Level 20, State 0, Line 79 A severe error occurred on the current command. The results, if any, should be discarded.

Looked into the stack dump file and could see the following messages:

SqlDumpExceptionHandler: Process 56 generated fatal exception c0000096 EXCEPTION_PRIV_INSTRUCTION. Could you please let me know if anyone has come across the same issue in past?
