Restored database with column encryption decrypts data with out regeneration

Hi,

I have a database that has column level encryption implemented with symmetric key and certificate. I restored this database in to another sql instance using the full back up file.

I was expecting that the data in the encrypted column cannot be decrypted in the restored database with out regenerating the keys, but I am able to just open the symmetric key and decrypt the data with no regeneration.

Can any one please explain how it is possible to decrypt the encrypted column's data with out regeneration with new SMK?
