Not able to choose 'Yes' for readable secondary setting on Always On

We configured the always on in SQL server 2017 standard edition. But the options of 'Yes' or 'Read-intent only' for readable secondary are not available for us to choose, and we were only able to choose 'No' instead. Therefore, when a database was replicated to the secondary replica, there is no way to read any data from it. Could anyone give us suggestions how to resolve this? Thanks.

In addition, the backup preference is also grayed out and there is no way to select any options.

We tested the always on feature in our environment with the developer editions and it worked fine, but once we moved forward in the production environment, we are facing current issues. Please help!

Standard Edition only supports Basic Availability Groups, which do not allow read access on a secondary replica: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/database-engine/availability-groups/windows/basic-availability-groups-always-on-availability-groups?view=sql-server-2017

This will have worked in Development Edition, as that edition has the full feature set, equivalent to Enterprise Edition

Thanks a lot. @Kev Riley Make sense. We thought the standard edition has the same feature as the development edition. Apparent it is not.
